My Pediatric Speech Therapy Clinic is Now Open
Hi. I’m Pam Drennen, MS CCC-SLP and I am opening a speech language therapy clinic in Wayne PA. In fact, it opened yesterday.
I have been a speech pathologist for 20 years. I started a private practice about 10 years ago, but I never had a office, so I drove to each appointment. I have dreamt of having my own clinic so that I can help more kids. I am not alone either. I have had numerous conversations with other private practice SLPs over the years who have or had the same dream. The reality of the situation is that few SLPs have the time, money or business experience to start a speech therapy clinic. It costs a lot of money to get started and it’s somewhat complicated. I realized that I needed plan and a team.
I called my brother, Fran Dicari, first. Fran is an entrepreneur. He has been entrepreneurial his entire life. Over the last 20 years, he has helped build two marketing agencies in Cincinnati. His current agency is a digital agency with a staff of 90 people. He knows how to build a business and how to market one. Fran gave me the boost of confidence I needed and more importantly said he offered to help finance the start-up.
Fran suggested that we bring our sister, Deb Sampson, into the business too. Quite simply, Deb gets things done. She has been in the child therapy business as an OT assistant for years. Before Deb got into OT, she helped run the day-to-day operations of two daycare centers.
So I will concentrate on the Clinical Services at the therapy clinic. My sister will concentrate on managing the business and my brother will lead all work regarding marketing, legal and finance.
We are the perfect team.
We are proud to announce that Kidmunicate is now open for business. We are conveniently located on the Mainline in Suburban Philadephia at 489 Devon Park Drive, Wayne, PA 19087. Our phone number is 484-367-7131.
Pam, I wish you all the luck with your clinic. I too did the same thing about 7 years ago and even though there have been many difficulties I am so glad I did. Just be sure to make some time for yourself as your clinic grows and work piles up.

Hi! I am a mom in south Florida. I have an 8 year old boy with autism… needless to say autism has flipped our lives upside down the last 4 years… we all used to travel for our business and that was not the right thing after we found out about Antonio’s diagnosis. We have had a dream to open a therapy center so we can give kids loving care, help moms and dads and stay together as a family. ( my husband has continued traveling and my boys and I have stayed home for school and therapy)
Well our dream is becoming a reality!
We are officially Angels Voices pediatric therapy center! But we are not open yet! I was wondering if a can ask you a few questions! I need help! Would you please be so kind?
Hi Jennifer – call the office and ask to schedule a meeting with Fran.
So kind of you to help people. I have a 11 yr old son we live in Washington. I have the same dream as Jennifer , as my son got rejected in some therapies I feel like having a therapy center will help him and many other kids. each place we call have a big waitlist and services are not as many as growing needs of kids. Hence I want to turn my frustration into good for atleast some kids.
can you please help me as well. please let me know.
Well, maybe. What are you thinking about going to get a degree in Speech and Language Communications? We can point you in the right direction.
